A labourer can give charity out of his earnings and it is severely forbidden to detract on who contributes a little

598. Narrated Aboo Mas’ood (radhi Allaahu anhu) :

When we were ordered to give alms, we used to start to work as porters (to earn something we could give in charity). Aboo ‘Uqail came with one half of a Saa (special measure for food grains) and another person brought more than he did. So the hypocrites said, “Allaah is not in need of the alms of this (i.e. ‘Uqail); and this other person did not give alms but for showing off.” Then Allaah (Subhahanu wata’alaa) revealed : ‘Those who defame such of the believer who give charity (in Allaah’s Cause) voluntarily, and those who could not find to give charity (in Allaah’s Cause) except what is available to them…’ (V.9 : 79)

The Adhaan pronounced by Bilaal (radhi Allaahu anhu)

664. Narrated ‘Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (radhi Allaahu anhu) : The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

The Adhaan pronounced by Bilaal should not stop you from taking Sahoor, for the pronounces the Adhaan at night, so that the one offering the late night prayer (Tahajjud) from among you might hurry up, and the sleeping from amongst you might wake up. It does not mean that Al-Fajr (dawn) or As-Subhu (morning) has started.” Then he (the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam)) pointed with his fingers and rised them up (towards the sky) and then lowered them (towards the earth) like this (Ibn Mas’ood imitates the gesture of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam)).

By Allah, I would definitely fight him who makes distinction between Salat and the Zakat

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

When the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) passed away, Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) was appointed as his successor (caliph). Amongst the Arabs some men apostatised. Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) resolved to fight them. `Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) said to Abu Bakr: “How can you fight them when the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) has declared: `I have been commanded to fight people till they testify La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah); and if they do it, their blood (life) and property are secured except when justified by law, and it is for Allah to call them to account.” Upon this Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) said: “By Allah, I would definitely fight him who makes distinction between Salat and the Zakat, because it is an obligation upon the rich to pay Zakat. By Allah I will fight them even to secure the piece of rope which they used to give to the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam).” `Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: “I realized that Allah opened the heart of Abu Bakr (May Allah be pleased with him) for fighting those who refused to pay Zakat, and I fully recognized that Abu Bakr ¨(May Allah be pleased with him) was right.

Verily, he has told you the truth though he is a liar

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) put me in charge of charity of Ramadan (Sadaqat-ul-Fitr). Somebody came to me and began to take away some food-stuff. I caught him and said, “I must take you to the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam).” He said, “I am a needy man with a large family, and so I have a pressing need.” I let him go. When I saw the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) next morning, he asked me, “O Abu Hurairah! What did your captive do last night?” I said, “O Messenger of Allah! He complained of a pressing need and a big family. I felt pity for him so I let him go.” He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “He told you a lie and he will return.” I was sure, according to the saying of the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) that he would return. I waited for him. He sneaked up again and began to steal food-stuff from the Sadaqah. I caught him and said; “I must take you to the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam).” He said, “Let go of me, I am a needy man. I have to bear the expenses of a big family. I will not come back.” So I took pity on him and let him go. I went at dawn to the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) who asked me, “O Abu Hurairah! What did your captive do last night?” I replied, “O Messenger of Allah! He complained of a pressing want and the burden of a big family. I took pity on him and so I let him go.” He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “He told you a lie and he will return.” (That man) came again to steal the food-stuff. I arrested him and said, “I must take you to the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam), and this is the last of three times. You promised that you would not come again but you did.” He said, “Let go of me, I shall teach you some words with which Allah may benefit you.” I asked, “What are those words?” He replied, “When you go to bed, recite Ayat-ul-Kursi (2:255) for there will be a guardian appointed over you from Allah, and Satan will not be able to approach you till morning.” So I let him go. Next morning the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) asked me, “What did your prisoner do last night.” I answered, “He promised to teach me some words which he claimed will benefit me before Allah. So I let him go.” The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) asked, “What are those words that he taught you?” I said, “He told me: `When you go to bed, recite Ayat-ul-Kursi from the beginning to the end  i.e.,[ Allah! none has the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi encompasses the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not fatigue Him. And He is the Most High, the Most Great].’ (2:255). He added: `By reciting it, there will be a guardian appointed over you from Allah who will protect you during the night, and Satan will not be able to come near you until morning’.” The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “Verily, he has told you the truth  though he is a liar. O Abu Hurairah! Do you know with whom you were speaking for the last three nights?” I said, “No.” He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “He was Shaitan (Satan).”

The Picture Makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection

1366. Narrated ‘Aaisha (radhi Allaahu anha), the mother of the believers :

I bought a cushion with pictures on it. When Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) saw it, he kept standing at the door and did not enter the house. I noticed signs of disgust on his face, so I said, “O Allaah’s Messenger! I repent to Allaah and His Messenger. (Please let me know) what sin I have done.” Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “What about this cushion?” I replied, “I bought it for you to sit and recline on.” Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “The painters (i.e. owners) of  these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. The Person who will be the last to come out of the (Hell) Fire.

117. Narrated ‘Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (radhi Allaahu anhu) : The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

“I know the person who will be the last to come out of the (Hell) Fire and the last to enter Paradise. He will be a man who will come out of the (Hell) Fire crawling, and Allaah, will say to him, ‘Go and enter Paradise’. He will go to it, but it will appear to him as if it had been filled, and then he will return and say, ‘O Lord, I have found it full.’ Allaah will say, ‘Go and enter Paradise’. He will go to it, but it will appear to him as if it had been filled, and then he will return and say, ‘O Lord, I have found it full.’ Allaah will say, ‘Go and enter Paradise and you will have what equals the world and ten times as much (or you will have as much as ten times the like of the world).’ On that the man will say, ‘Do you mock at me (or laugh at me) though You are the king?'” I saw Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) (while saying that) smiling till his premolar teeth were apparent. It is said that, that will be the lowest degree (rank) amongst the people of  Paradise.
