It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (صلىالله عليه وسلم) said:

“If a person does wudoo’ and does it well, then sets out for the mosque but finds that the people have already prayed, Allaah will decree for him a reward like that of those who prayed and were present, and that will not detract anything from their reward.”

Narrated by Abu Dawood (564), al-Nasaa’i (855); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

The Great Reward Of Going Early to the Friday Prayer (Jumuah)

493. Narrated Aboo Huraira (radhi Allaahu anhu) : Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

“Any person who takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaaba and then goes for the Salaat (prayer) (in the first hour i.e. early), it is as if he had sacrificed a camel (in Allaah’s Cause); and whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he had sacrificed a cow; and whoever goes in the third hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a horned ram; and if one goes in the fourth hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour, then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the Imaam comes out [i.e. starts deliveiring the Khutba (religious talk) ], the angels present themselves to listen to the Khutba.”

No Salaat (prayer) is more heavy (harder) for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the ‘Ishaa prayers

Bismillaah, wal-hamdulilaah, was-salaatu was-salaamu ‘alaa rasoolillaah,
as Salaamu ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh

383. Narrated Aboo Huraira (radhi Allaahu anhu) :- The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

“No Salaat (prayer) is more heavy (harder) for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the ‘Ishaa prayers, and if they knew the reward for these Salaat (prayers) at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to crawl.” The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) added, “Certainly, I intended or planned or decided to order the Mu’adhdhin (call-maker) to pronounce Iqaama and then take a fire flame to burn all those (men along with their houses who had not left their houses) so far for As-Salaat (the prayer) (in the mosque).”

Whoever built a masjid, with the intention of seeking Allaah’s pleasure ..

309. Narrated ‘Ubaidullaah Al-Khaulaani (radhi Allaahu anhu) :

I heard ‘Uthmaan bin ‘Affaan (radhi Allaahu anhu) saying, when people argued too much about his intention to reconstruct the masjid of Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), “You have talked too much. I heard the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying,

‘Whoever built a masjid, with the intention of seeking Allaah’s pleasure, Allaah will build for him a similar place in Paradise.”

Salat in congregation is twenty-five times more rewarding

1065. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said,

A man’s Salat in congregation is twenty-five times more rewarding than his Salat at home or in his shop, and that is because when he performs his Wudu’ properly and proceeds towards the mosque with the purpose of performing Salat in congregation, he does not take a step without being raised a degree (in rank) for it and having a sin remitted for it, till he enters the mosque. When he is performing Salat, the angels continue to invoke Blessings of Allah on him as long as he is in his place of worship in a state of Wudu’. They say: `O Allah! Have mercy on him! O Allah! Forgive him.’ He is deemed to be engaged in Salat as long as he waits for it

Do not stop Allaah’s Imaa’ (women slaves) from going to Allaah’s mosques

254. Narrated Ibn ‘Umar (radhi Allaahu anhu) :

One of the wives of ‘Umar (bin Al-Khattaab) used to offer the Fajr and the ‘Ishaa prayer in congregation in the mosque. She was asked why she had come out for the prayer as she knew that ‘Umar disliked it and he has great Gheera (self-respect). She replied, “What prevents him from stopping  me from this act?” The other replied, “The statement of Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). ‘Do not stop Allaah’s Imaa’ (women slaves) from going to Allaah’s mosques‘, prevents him.”

Superiority of taking many steps in order to reach the Masjid

350. Narrated Abu Musa (radhi Allaahu anhu):-

The Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said,

The people who get tremendous reward for As-Salat (the prayer) are those who are farthest away (from the mosque), and then those who are next farthest and so on. Similarly one who waits to offer Salat with the Imam has greater reward than one who offers Salat and goes to bed
