1232. Narrated Anas bin Maalik (radhi Allaahu anhu) : The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

Nobody who enters Paradise likes to go back to the world even if he got everything on the earth, except a Mujaahid who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the honour and dignity he receives (from Allaah).”

1480. Narrated ‘Uqba bin Aamir (radhi Allaahu anhu) :

Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) offered the funeral prayers of the martyrs of Uhud eight years after (their death) as if bidding farewell to the living and the dead, then he ascended the pulpit and said,

“I am your predecessor before you, and I am a witness over you, and your promised place to meet me will be Haud (Al-Kauthar) (on the Day of Resurrection), and I am (now) looking at it from this place of mine. I am not afraid that you will worship other besides Allaah, but I am afraid that wordly life will tempt you and cause you to compete with each other for it.”

1247. Narrated Aboo Huraira (radhi Allaahu anhu) : Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

“While a man was going on a way, he saw a thorny branch and removed it from the way and Allaah (Subhaanahu wata’alaa) became pleased by his action and forgave him for that.”

Then [the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam)] said,
“Five are martyrs :
One who dies of plague,
one who dies of an abdominal disease,
one who dies of drowning,
one who is buried alive (and) dies and
one who is killed in Allaah’s cause.”
