If he took a bath five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?

389. Narrated Aboo Huraira (radhi Allaahu anhu) : I heard Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) saying,

“If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?” They said, “Not a trace of dirt would be left.” The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) added, “That is the example of the five Salaat (prayers) with which Allaah blots our (annuls) evil deeds.”

Daily-Hadith · Ibadah (Worship) · Siyam (Fasting)

As-Siyaam (fasting) is Junnah (protection or shield or a screen or a shelter from the Hell-fire)

706. Narrated Aboo Huraira (radhi Allaahu anhu):Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said,

As-Siyaam (fasting) is Junnah (protection or shield or a screen or a shelter from the Hell-fire). So, the person observing Saum should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should say to him twice, ‘I am observing Saum.’ “

The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) added,

“By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming from the mouth of a person observing Saum is better with Allaah (Subhanahu wata’alaa) than the smell of musk. (Allaah says about the fasting person), ‘He has left his food, drink and desires for My sake. The Saum is for Me.(*) So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times.’ “

[Saheeh Al-Bukhaari, Hadeeth No. 118, Vol. 3]

(*) (H.706) Although all practices  of worshipping are for Allaah Alone, here Allaah  (Subhanahu wata’alaa) singles out Saum (fast), because Saum cannot be practised for the sake of showing off as nobody can know whether one is observing Saum or not, except Allaah. Therefore, fasting is a pure performance that cannat be blemished with hypocrisy. (Fath-ul-Baaree, Vol. 5, p. 10).

Do not stop Allaah’s Imaa’ (women slaves) from going to Allaah’s mosques

254. Narrated Ibn ‘Umar (radhi Allaahu anhu) :

One of the wives of ‘Umar (bin Al-Khattaab) used to offer the Fajr and the ‘Ishaa prayer in congregation in the mosque. She was asked why she had come out for the prayer as she knew that ‘Umar disliked it and he has great Gheera (self-respect). She replied, “What prevents him from stopping  me from this act?” The other replied, “The statement of Allaah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). ‘Do not stop Allaah’s Imaa’ (women slaves) from going to Allaah’s mosques‘, prevents him.”

Oh son of Aadam, devote yourself to My worship and I will fill your heart with richness and your hands with provision

On the authority of Mu’qal bin Yasaar- May Allaah be pleased with him- who said: The Messenger of Allaah- Allaah’s Peace and Blessings be upon him- said:

‘Your Lord Blessed and Exalted says: ‘Oh son of Aadam, devote yourself to My worship and I will fill your heart with richness and your hands with provision. Oh son of Aadam do not become distant from me lest I fill your heart with poverty and your hands with burdens.’
